Our screening criteria are written down, and they are the same for every applicant. Please read them before you apply.

    We review and follow up

    We check your application against the criteria below and let you know. If it moves forward, you get a separate secure link from our screening partner for the credit and background check.

Our screening criteria

We use these same five standards for every applicant.

  1. 1

    No evictions in the last 7 years

  2. 2

    Income of at least 3 times the monthly rent

    Income must be verifiable. For a $1,250 apartment, that means $3,750 a month.

  3. 3

    Credit score of 600 or higher

    Below 600, you can still qualify with a double security deposit.

  4. 4

    A positive reference from a prior landlord

  5. 5

    No unpaid balance owed to a prior landlord

Housing vouchers and rental assistance

We welcome housing choice vouchers and other rental assistance. We count that assistance as income, and the 3 times rule applies only to the part of the rent you pay yourself.

These criteria may be updated over time. We use the version posted on this page on the day you apply.

Before taxes, from all sources: wages, self employment, benefits, Social Security, child support, and any other income you can show.

We welcome vouchers. This lets us apply the 3 times rule only to the part of the rent you pay.

Do not count eviction cases that a court sealed.

We never ask for your Social Security number, date of birth, or bank or card numbers on this website.
